Privacy policy
This policy explains how Quiet Compass handles information when you connect Google Calendar or GitHub.
Google Calendar
When you connect Google Calendar, Quiet Compass requests read-only access to calendar events. It uses event data only to show your calendar information in the app. The app does not store event contents in its database.
GitHub
When you connect GitHub, Quiet Compass uses read-only repository access to show recent commits, open issues, and open pull requests for up to five of your most recently pushed repositories available to the app. Repository names and activity details are fetched from GitHub when you open or refresh the dashboard; Quiet Compass does not store repository contents or activity details in its database.
Connection data
To keep these connections active, Quiet Compass stores encrypted Google and GitHub access credentials and basic connection details in a Cloudflare-hosted database. Tokens are encrypted by the app before storage. Quiet Compass does not sell this data or use it for advertising. Data is shared only with Google or GitHub to provide the requested connection and with Cloudflare to host the app.
Notes and other app information
Notes, folders, and saved links are cached in your browser and synchronized across devices through a Cloudflare-hosted database. Ideas you save as notes sync as part of your notes. Quiet Compass encrypts the synchronized notes payload before storage. You can export your notes from within the app. Clearing notes and links in Quiet Compass removes the synced copy as well as the local copy.
Retention and revoking access
Saved connections remain until you disconnect them in Quiet Compass. Disconnecting removes the stored connection record. You can also revoke access in your Google Account permissions or GitHub application settings. Google and GitHub may retain data according to their own policies.
Security
Quiet Compass uses HTTPS and encrypts stored access credentials. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
Changes and contact
This policy may be updated if the app data practices change. For privacy questions, contact dredre1997@gmail.com.
